ドイツからのプレゼント 〜The wonderful parcel from my wonderful friend in Germany〜

ドイツ人の友人から、小包が届いた！

I got a parcel from my German friend !

彼は15年来の友人で、

私が英語の勉強をするために、ペンパルサイトでメル友募集の広告を出したところ、

彼がメールをくれたのが、始まりだった。

We’ve known each other for 15 years or more.

It was the beginning of our friendship that he answered my ad to get pen pals from other countries.

他にも何人か、長くメール交換をしていた友人はいたけど、

子供ができたり、私の生活環境が変わると共に、

一人二人と減っていった。

I got some long term pen pals,

but more changes I had in my life, like having kids,

less mails I wrote to them.

でも、彼だけは、

私が何ヶ月も返事を書き忘れても、

こまめにメールをくれて、

それのおかげで、

今もなお、友達でいてくれている。

But he was different from others.

He so often emailed me

even if I forgot to write him for a while.

That’s why,

thanks for him,

we can be good friends for such a long time !!

会ったことはないけど、

お互いの夢は、

いつか、

実際に会うこと。

We’ve never seen each other in person,

so our dream is to see each other in person someday.

来年の３月に会えるかなぁ、と

計画してみたけど、

ボツってしまったので、

またのいつかまでのお楽しみ。

I tried to plan visiting his place next March,

but I failed...

So our wish was postponed...

今回の小包の中身は、

お菓子だった！

The parcel was filled with sweets and snacks !

彼厳選の、

made in Germanの

私好みのお菓子たち！

They are my favorite sweets and snacks produced in Germany,

which he selected carefully !

もちろん、子供達の好みも知っているので、

それも外さず入っていた！

Of course he’s known what my kids like

so some of them are my kids’ favorite !

いくつかは

ガマンできずに食べちゃったけど、

子供達との約束で、

クリスマスのお楽しみにとってあるんだ〜！

I have already eaten some of them

because they looked so delicious.

But

I promised to keep them until Christmas Eve 

and we can eat them on that day,

so we are looking forward to Christmas Eve !
